Como Criar um cronômetro em JAVA

Pessoal, fiz a algum tempo uma aplicação em acess usando VB que nada mais é que um cronômetro

que me permite soar um alarme em um intervalo de tempo pré estabelecido. Quero refaze-lo
só que em java, mas não tenho idéia de como trabalhar com os segundo, Agradeceria muito se algúem
poder me dar uma ajuda de como começar a imprementar um código de maneira a trabalhar com Hora, Min e Seg

Isso vai ser gráfico? Vai mostrar esse cronometro para o usuario?
