Extrair inteiros de uma string

Como extraio uma parte de uma string e a converto para um "int"?

Qual a maneira mais rápida de fazer isso?

Tenta isso aí.

String str = "Alo Mundo";
for(int i=0;i<=(str.length()-1);i++){
ch=str.charAt(i);
valor = (int) ch;
System.out.println(valor);
}

num conterá o número inteiro 10.

Mas e se eu não souber em que posição se encontra a string?

Tipo no Delphi eu tenho o Pos(SubString, String), que retorna a posição de SubString em String

vc pode usar o método da String

indexOf

public int indexOf(String str)

Returns the index within this string of the first occurrence of the specified substring. The integer returned is the smallest value k such that:

this.startsWith(str, k)

is true.

Parameters:
str - any string.
Returns:
if the string argument occurs as a substring within this object, then the index of the first character of the first such substring is returned; if it does not occur as a substring, -1 is returned.
