Quando coloco a opção negrito e tento imprimir em PDF no Jasperreport até mesmo no Preview, simplesmente não ocorre nada, tentei algumas opções na internet e até agora não encontrei nada, alguém saberia como resolver ?

Uma das opções é colocar o markup do textField como html e, na parte que for negritada, usar tags .
Porém, isso só vai funcionar se a fonte que tu estiveres utilizando também estiver disponível para o cliente.
Se não estiver, tens que setar a propriedade isPdfEmbedded pra true.

Obrigado, tentei usar as duas opções mas nenhuma funcionou.

Cara, proposta idiota: muda tua fonte pra uma nativa que tu já tenhas visto impressa em PDF como negrito e testa.

qual a versão do IReport?
vc clicando em algum campo com o botão direito do mouse tem a opção de escolher o NOME DA FONTE NO PDF
tem as opções em baixo e tbm as opção como deseja

Consegui havia uma opção :
Pdf Font name is now deprecated. You should use a Font extension when using a not standard font. See Tools->Options->Fonts. Helvetica-Bold
alterei essa opção para Helvetica-Bold
